Purposeful and Intentional Growth

If you start today to do the right thing, you are already a success, even if it doesn’t show yet.’ – John Maxwell.

I have met  people who want to add value to other people’s lives. That is so good that they are thinking about others. However, when I ask  these people how they want to add value, as much as they have clarity in what they want to give, they are not growing to acquire the right information to give. Its been said that to lift others up, you yourself must be on higher ground. So what are you doing to grow yourself?

Growth is intentional and purposeful and not just a someday event. Some say someday they will acquire the knowledge they need to be able to help others. I say why not do it now.

Success leaves clues. Look for someone doing what you want to do and learn from them. Seek to have a coach, or mentor to help you in the process of getting good. Remember my friends, you can only give what you have. Work on yourself first, add value to you first, be purposeful and intentional in your growth plan.

Then you will have value to add to others.  Thinking of when to start?

According to John Maxwell  ‘If you start today to do the right thing, you are already a success, even if it doesn’t show yet’, so start today.

Today matters my friend.

What if someone stops breathing?

What if someone stops breathing?

I was on my way to teach CPR one day, when I decided to stop briefly at a friend's house. We were talking  and suddenly, her speech slowed down. Hurry up I said as I am scheduled to teach CPR in 30mins. She smiled, nodded, and continued talking. A few seconds later she clutched on to her chest. Oh do you want me to practice CPR on you I joked.

Tears started rolling down her cheeks, then I realized my goodness, she is having a cardiac arrest ( heart attack) right in front of me.  She fell to the ground stopped breathing and lo and behold, I was thrown into action mode knowing all that can go wrong if I do nothing. Thank goodness, she spent some days in the hospital and was fine.

Question is what would you do if someone stops breathing. What if that person is your family member? A friend shared with me this morning how just yesterday she had to give her husband the breath of life because he stopped breathing.

Do you know what to do if someone stops breathing? Worse still what if the heart stops beating? Do you know Basic Life support? Or would you just throw your hands in the air and beg for a miracle.

Please, learn Basic Life Support today.

I got involved because a friend went to a restaurant to eat, choked and died right at the restaurant as no one was trained in CPR. She was only 37years old.

As a health care provider, preventable deaths gets to me. That is why today, I have chosen to create some awareness on CPR. Learn CPR today.

I have a huge passion for Africa. I went to teach CPR about 5 years ago in Nigeria. Sadly my son died in Nigeria, in an emergency on his way to the hospital. I stayed angry for years and never talked about it. I had deep hurt from the incident. This year, as I turn 50, the work continues. This is not about me, but it is beyond me, as many people need to learn basic life support.

For together, we can save a life

CPR AFRICA. FOR EVERY LIFE IS WORTH SAVING

PAIN HAS ITS BENEFITS

If someone had told me this some years ago, that there are some benefits to pain, I honestly would have said they must be out of their minds.

My name is Abiola Saba and welcome to my blogspot.I look back at some years back when my son Lou was alive, when I wondered how a good God can allow him to be born unable to walk, talk, see, get up, and seizure disorder. Worst still doctors did not know what was wrong with Lou and his diagnosis was unknown. There was so much pain, as well as condemnation from the very people that were suppose to help.

Lou has gone to be with the Maker, but his legacy lives on in the work I do. I am thankful, I am grateful and I am blessed.

IN the pain, I got on my kneels, in the pain, I sort His Face, in the pain I became sourced. Now I must resource.

Pain has its benefits. Embrace the pain and move on. Keep the faith my friends
